The Walls are Closing in on Superintendent Choudhury

The State Board of Education President issued a public statement pulling back the board’s support of Superintendent Mohammed Choudhury’s House Bill 119.

Today, the State Board of Education President issued a public statement pulling back the board’s support of Superintendent Mohammed Choudhury’s House Bill 119.  A major blow to Choudhury’s pursuit of complete top-down control of our education system.

This follows last week’s call to action by the Maryland Association of Boards of Education (MABE) to denounce the Superintendent’s attempted power grab.

We’ve heard from over 1,300 Maryland residents who support Choudhury’s removal, including current and former employees of the education czar who have described a toxic, dysfunctional work environment in the Maryland State Department of Education.

This is not fair to our great MSDE workers and puts the entire implementation of the Maryland Blueprint at risk.

Superintendent Choudhury has failed his fellow MSDE employees, our great teachers, our students, and now he’s lost the confidence of the State Board of Education and all local school boards.

It’s time for new leadership.  It’s time to show Superintendent Choudhury the exit.

Please sign and share our petition to remove State Superintendent Mohammed Choudhury.
